This Weekend With Kids

I cannot tell you how delightful it was to walk outside this morning and feel a breeze. Such a relief! Let's hope this break in the heat lasts. As long is it does, we're planning a couple of long walks and maybe even some grilling.

Here are a few more ideas for getting out and enjoying the pleasant weather:

First Friday Art Hop
Sponsored by the Lodi Arts Commission, these monthly citywide art hops are free, and the whole family is welcome. This month's featured artist is JC Strote of Melt Down Art. She works in glass - fascinating and beautiful. From 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Hutchins Street Square hosts appetizers and wine tasting. Other locations are on the art hop are: Riaza Wines, Olive Heaven, Taste of Heaven, Lodi Public Library, McKinley's Frame Shop, Lodi Community Art Center, The Dancing Fox, and New & Again.

Stockton Ports Fireworks
If you didn't get your fill on Thursday, see another fireworks show at Banner Island Ballpark. The Stockton Ports play the Modesto Nuts at 7:05 p.m. Friday, with fireworks to follow. At Saturday's game (also at 7:05 p.m.), guests will receive a stars-and-stripes T-shirt.

Free Admission at The Haggin Museum
The first Saturday of the month is free admission day at The Haggin Museum. Ongoing exhibitions include Pro Football and the American Spirit: The NFL and the U.S. Armed Forces; and AView From Space. Saturday hours are from noon to 5 p.m.
